Freelance business tools

Built by someone who learned it the hard way.

Nine years in, I kept running into the same problems: clients adding scope, invoices going quiet, rate conversations turning awkward. So I built the documents, scripts, and systems I wish I'd had in year one. Plain English. One-time purchase. No subscription.

"I invoiced $3,800. I collected $1,600. The rest was 'being difficult.'"

Year three. A regional restaurant chain. I signed a one-page contract off a Reddit template and spent six weeks watching the scope expand — logo to brand guide to menu to social templates to "one quick pitch deck." The owner's wife had notes. I had no clause for any of it.

I spent the next weekend building a real contract from scratch. Added a scope freeze clause, a two-round revision cap, and a change order form. Used it on the next client. First time they asked for something extra, I sent a change order. They signed it. $400. Five minutes.

That document became Product 1. The late payment templates came from a fintech startup that went quiet after delivery. Three months of follow-up, then collections. I rewrote the email sequence so each email felt escalating but professional. Used it twice more. Both paid. That became Product 2.

Everything here is something I built because I needed it. None of it is advice. It's just the actual documents.
